November was an interesting month. Busy, full of fun. And full of overwhelm, especially at first. I've been doing a lot of juggling, a lot of creating, a lot of teaching. During the first week of teaching Inner Light Sanctuary classes (plus 5 other yoga classes for other studios and gyms), you can bet that I was spending my Thursday afternoon laying on the couch, mentally and physically exhausted.
But the magic happened when something shifted in me after that first week.
1.) << REST >> I gave myself a "Mandee Day" to completely rest and it felt like a vacation, maybe even more relaxing than most vacations. I learned that this is one of my needs. And I promised myself that no matter what, I will always make sure that I give myself one full day a week of no obligations, of laying around with my pets and a book, maybe even laying in bed until 1pm, of unplugging from social media and electronics, of nurturing myself. This is how I can continue to show up and my work and I create a boundary around that. I encourage you to do it too. Because you are worth it.
2.) << EMPOWERMENT >> Sometimes it hurts. The stretching of the mental body can physically hurt. But what I noticed was that after I got through the pain of the stretching, I came out the other side empowered. Alive. And ready for more. Getting through the pain, increased my capacity of what I can now hold space for.
